Every change

How your privacy grew, newest first — the same plain notes that go out with each update.

Version 0.39

October 11, 2026
  • The film on the home page no longer carries a line about the video host under it. The Privacy page still explains how the film is handled.

Version 0.34

September 24, 2026
  • your iNaturalist username stays on your device, goes only to iNaturalist, and never with a location. Remove it in Settings anytime.
  • The list of services on the Privacy page is now enforced, not just promised: your browser refuses any lookup to an address that isn't on it. Two missing entries join it: the services naming your region in Europe and south of the equator.
  • opening a saved spot told our visit counter which spot it was, by its private code. Now it only hears that a saved spot was opened, so visits to the same garden can't be linked.

Version 0.27

August 28, 2026
  • "It's yours" now includes taking it with you. Privacy and About both say so, and Privacy links straight to the button that does it.

Version 0.24

August 7, 2026
  • We now count how many times each page is opened. One outside service is told that a page was opened, and which one. No cookie, nothing kept to recognise you, never your location or a spot you've saved, and search words are stripped off first.

Version 0.20

August 1, 2026
  • What that costs you, in full: a version number and two dates. No account, no count of how often you come, no record of what you looked at. It stays in your browser, and Settings shows you both values with a button that throws them away.

Version 0.19

August 1, 2026
  • Settings now lists everything this device remembers about you, in plain words, each with a button that throws it away: your last spot, your starting region, and the goal your plant lists are ranked by. All of it stays in your browser.

Version 0.17

July 31, 2026
  • Fewer words, fewer boxes, above those photos. The paragraph explaining the lookup is one line. My location and the postal-code box share a row instead of taking three. The promise about your location is now a link: how your location is used.

Version 0.12

July 28, 2026
  • A Privacy & safety page, in plain words for everyone — including kids and the grown-ups looking out for them. No account, no tracking, no ads; your saved spots stay on your device; and it names every public science service your browser talks to.
